American Business

Today I decided to watch American Gangster starring Denzil Washington.  This isn’t the first time I’ve seen this great film and it most likely won’t be the last.  Today however was the first time I watched this film seeing it wasn’t about a black man become a mob boss.  it wasn’t about how a drug dealer came up from nothing and when all the dust settled Frank and the cop became friends.  It wasn’t about any of that it was more about how american business was and is changing.  They do a good job of tying it into the story line by saying that Frankie was doing some of the same things that they talked about.   That is to buy from Asia taking out the middle man or buying whole sale.  Its interesting that they use a father type figure to tell him the ways of business and that like a child taking advice from a father he takes some of that advice and uses it.  Others he exploits the weakness of what Frank’s industry is do at that time.   If you don’t like most movies like this the quotes that are in here are great.  One more thing about this movie that is so great is that it is told from two peoples lives the cop’s and Frank’s and in most of these one of them would have been the villain and one would be the hero.  What is impressive about this one is both figures heads both hate lying cops and that is what is the villain in this movie.

People don’t sing the Pledge!!!! SAY WHAT???

What I would like to say about this is that even though people are up in arms about this topic in the college they should learn to get along because what it seems like the college and everyone around it is about 50-50 on the issue and of course some are undecided.   I mean its not like are playing it and singing the thing they are just playing the music.  That way both sides get a little of what they want.  just a few weeks ago they played it at the first ever baseball game.  What is more American than that?

Football/Soccer

I wasn’t always interested in this sport it all really started about 3 yrs ago when I decided to play a video game that had a lot of the teams from around the world in it over at a friends house one day.  When I was a kid I thought it was just a bunch of people running back and forth trying to kick a ball when I was playing the VG i relized that thier was more to it then that.  After that night I went and bought a game that was like it but seemed more user friendly, not as many buttons to press, as I was playing I got to know the names of the players and more what the pro sport season is really like.  With that I was able to talk with a friend of mine who grew up in Brizal and knows football really well about the sport that we never really talked about.  Now I see games from time to time on ESPN2,  ESPNClassic, and ESPNNews  I know wierd I don’t get it why they put live games that most people don’t want to see on classic and new.  But, I’m not an one who decideds what goes on what channels am I?  I still find it all odd that my new sport that I found to love all started with a video game.  That didn’t happen when I played Wayne Gretzgy on the 64 way back in the day I still can’t watch a hockey game without going to sleep.

Take me out to the ball game….

Everyone knows with what that song is and if you don’t then we should take you to where ever they give people the test that make them legal and have you take it because that should be on the test that is what everyone hears when you go to a baseball game.  It’s America’s past time people, I went to see Mt. Rushmore this past yr with my family and you know what the workers did to pass the time play baseball.  Face it other sport will fade in and out of popularity but baseball always lives.  Some of you may be asking the question what is this guy taking about baseball though when the super bowl is on next sunday?  Good question, and the answer is did any of you see what today is, it is February 1st.  Do you know what that means?  It means only 33-4 days till spring training starts!  That means that means that this month we are going to hear all about how great the Yanks and the Red Sox are and who is going to come out from all the mediocrity to make a run at the mighty duo.  Sorry I don’t follow the National teams that much all I know is the Cards will kill it this year.  But,  with all that said where do the Rangers stand?

They have a new owning group so this year looks will be the ultimate show me something year for all the front office personal and the coaches/manger.  With the player the pickups that they got were Vladimir Guerrero and Rich Harden some would question if Greene is a solid player still after he played so badly last season but if you look at what he did in the previous ones he steadily improved off the last one.  So, lets hope that Greene grows in the system and doesn’t turn into us into a sour apple.  It seems that these guys are great “locker room guys” in that they have all been able to move in there career and still do great things.  Guerrero did his of course when he was still young but I thing he will still be able to make the transition.  We didn’t get younger guys we got older guys that have been places so that all of our young guys can look to them.  Half the teams roster is about a yr or 2 removed from my age that is an extremely young team for the pros.  I just hope that our pitchers can find lighting in a bottle two yrs in a row, that is what it takes in that ballpark if we had one built like the one the Astros have I don’t think it would be a problem(the heat I mean).

Mayor Hates Cowboys!!

The Irving Mayor at a local gathering said that he didn’t want he Cowboys to go to the Super Bowl next year.  it will be played in the new Cowboys stadium and no other team has ever pull off the feet before now to play it in there own turf, so why so anticowboy local fox 4 reports that it is for the economics of the game he wants to see people come in from all over to see the game or other town to fill up his hotels.  I personal believe that is a cope up for what he really wanted to say for anyone who saw the news here they will know what I’m talking about in the DFW area they only showed him saying I don’t want the cowboys in then they cut it off.  Later they show him at a parking lot the next day to clarify what he said and that is where he goes on about the economics of it and it wasn’t like he said just some teams he said the Philly’s or Giants.  What was he thinking

Why fake it Mr. Pres??

My question for President Obama is will the real Obama please stand up? Here today and now meaning Thursday and again in his world-famous iTunes and internet forums he is saying that he doesn’t like the new supreme court ruling and that he wants to stop it by making legislation on it.  But, why would  he do that when the big rewards of this will come when he run in 2012?  Wasn’t he the one that got the most donations from already back in 2008?  For a guy who doesn’t like lobbyist he sure will take their money wont he.  As we all know he is also the one that said no lobbyist in Washington if I’m elected.  He won’t keep that promise that is so easy to keep what else will he back away from?  That is at a core why the public is so worried no one cares about if he will or wont get money he got plenty last time they just want to know that they are safe to go to sleep at night or get on a plane…….can he keep that one?

The Last Word On O’Brien

I would put where you can get a better understanding of what happened with O’Brien but by now unless you have been living under a rock you should already now what is going on……and that the guy got a 45million payout with some don’t know the really number going to his staff.  That is what is most important and not every many people are talking about that one if he didn’t get them some money when he got out that would have looked bad on him and been a killer PR move.  The other big deal is they keep saying he can’t be on a show now I haven’t been in a legal battel before but you know how Leno is going to take a little over a month to set up a stage and move over the same people he has on the other show to that one.  Well then does that mean we could see O’Brien with a Fox of a CC contract soon so that he can set up his show and then not really have it air till september?  The other possibility is that he would have to wait till then to even get hired to do a show then set it up that means we might now see O’Brien till 2011!!!
